Today on a our Blog Talk Radio Show Charly and I spoke to Margaret Saunders from Bedtime And Toilet Training Solutions about bedtime. Often this time of day is one that the adults in the house would rather avoid. It virtually is a nightmare.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Margaret shares some amazing insights and offers some very practical advice that you can put into practice straight away. Her approach is actually quite “yogic”. Margaret also makes a very generous offer to those who listen to the show. Read the rest of this entry »
It may have happened to you: you did an audio recording or a video and as you sit down to listen to it again, you don’t like the sound of your own voice or you think that your voice sounds really odd and strange. You may even think that if you only had better and more expensive equipment, things would be better.
Don’t blame the equipment. Soundwaves that get created when others speak reach our ear canal in the form of air waves. The way we hear our own voice is different. Our own voice causes the bones in our head vibrate. Our jawbone transmits that sound to our inner ear which then sends it to the brain. The transmission via bone distorts the low tones much more than the high sounds.
The end result is: when we hear our voice via air waves it sounds much higher than we normally perceive it.
There you go! Listen to your recorded voice because this is how others hear you! The sound of your voice is really important for presentations and recordings you put on your website.
Carol Deckert is a networking and netweaving wizard. Carol joined Charly on our Blog Talk Radio Show to talk about achieving balance in networking.
The main focus of the discussion was using your time effectively when connecting and networking with people - how to ensure you make worthwhile connections whilst still having time to run your business!
Social networking is on the increase and the number of places to connect just keep growing. Most of us receive 1 or 2 invites a day to connect on one platform or another - and quite frankly, we’re overwhelmed by the sheer ‘enormity’ of it all. Read the rest of this entry »
It is everywhere - the myth that if we only managed our time better and more efficiently we would get more done, we would get on top of things and we wouldn’t get stressed…..
Advice, hints and tips abound. Here are some that I have come across:
Learn to speed read, so you can read many more pages in a fraction of time
Play any audio recordings you buy or recordings of seminars you attend at double their original speed or faster, so you can listen to lots more in a fraction of the time. Some devices even take out the “mickey mouse voice effect” to make it a more pleasant experience Read the rest of this entry »

One of my mentors, Paul Blackburn, said something along the lines of: This is the first time in history that a lot of people have more opportunity than time. Throughout most of human history we had more time than opportunity…..
This is how things like arts and crafts, making instruments and music, dance and lots of other things may have evolved. When people had finished the chores necessary for survival like gathering food, hunting, finding shelter for the night etc. - they had time. The human mind being always busy and inquisitive found things to keep itself occupied. There was time to talk and sing, decorate dresses and make jewellery….. Read the rest of this entry »
Balance is important in your life — it helps you survive and thrive and take true joy in life. That’s why we were so pleased to have Tonya join us. From Tonya, we learnt that many tend to take on too many things and experience overwhelm, the reasons behind why we do that and then Tonya provided some excellent strategies on how to reduce those situations.
Tonya is such an inspiring woman. Not only does she run her own business and have a 4 year old son — she is also studying at University Full Time. Wow!
Speaking from her own experience, Tonya shared with us how the Family works together as a collective to achieve the tasks that need to be done for a happy, healthy, home life. It was wonderful to hear how Tonya’s husband, Ben, and their son both chip in to ‘make the household run’.
This is a short post to encourage you to listen to the show that we did… It was truly amazing how much information Tonya shared.
We hope you enjoy listening to this weeks Stretch Your Mind And Body Blog Talk Radio Show and are able to take something away from it that you can action today! Please let us know if you do and how it goes for you!
A new year has just begun, and many of us wonder where the past year has gone - it seems only yesterday that we celebrated the beginning of 2008. The older we get, the faster time seems to pass. An interesting question arises: “What influences our perception of time?”
Interestingly enough it seems that whether we think that time passes quickly or slowly depends on how we go about doing things. Most of all it matters where our mind is focussing. Let me explain. Read the rest of this entry »
Connie and I were invited to participate in the 777 Self Help Event being conducted by Joe Rubino and Keith Matthew.
Joe and Keith have teamed up with a number of Joint Venture partners to bring their site visitors a bundle of free products aimed at Self Help and Self Improvement.
I have to say that previous events have taught me to be a little wary of the quality and type of products offered - but once I saw the quality of the products being offered, I knew this was an event we wanted to promote and be part of. Read the rest of this entry »
