How Flower Essences Can Benefit You

Flower essences are amazing healing substances. There are many different types and the Bach Flower essences were the first ones to be used extensively throughout Europe and then the rest of the world. Dr. Bach lived in England during the middle of last century and was a pioneer in this field.

Many different ranges of flower essences have been discovered and developed over the ensuing years. Today there is a vast choice available. They are sourced from different environments all over the world.

To understand how flower essences work and how they should be applied, we first need to look at the underlying philosophy explaining health and disease:

  • Mind, body and emotions are interrelated and interdependent
  • We are made up of energy
  • Energy equals matter, the only difference is that rate of vibration
  • Thoughts and feeling have a higher vibrational rate than our dense, physical body
  • Negative emotions are a major contributor to disease by being held inside our body, then being distorted by not being dealt with or expressed
  • Held in emotions cause blockages and eventually disease in the area of the body they are held in
  • Every physical problem has an emotional counterpart
  • One way of addressing the various emotional and health problems is to find the right energy and then creating balance in the overall energy system of the body
  • Flower essences are one of the tools available to us to restore balance and harmony in mind and body

 To get a clear understanding of the flower essences, we need to consider the following:

  • Each plant has its own rate of vibration or energy
  • Each part of a plant (roots, leaves, stems, flowers) has different rates of vibration
  • Flower of each plant has the highest vibration or highest expression
  • The highest vibration of the plant will bring out the highest expression in humans
  • Flower essence drops contain the qualities, energy and beauty of the flower they are made from

Annie Meredith has been involved with Flower Essences for nearly 30 years. She has been a practitioner using flower essences and a lecturer touring the world. Recently she created her own range of essences. They are called the “Spirit of Woman” Australian Wildflower Essences. She has also written a book  entitled “The Essence of Woman”.

 Annie MeredithAnnie shared lots of valuable and interesting information with us. To listen to the full interview please go here:

Organize Your Life and Become Happy and Healthy

Have you ever thought that being (or becoming) organized affects nearly everything else in your life? You don’t think that getting organized is that important? Read on and find out.

Being disorganized causes all sorts of problems, many may not be obvious at first glance.
* Decreased energy levels
* Lack of time for yourself
* Lack of sleep
* Increased stress levels
* Financial strain and wasted money
* Embarrassment (forgetting birthdays, not returning borrowed items, missing important appointments)
* Ineffective multitasking
* Overwhelm
* Forgetfulness and poor memory
* Poor health
* Mental health issues
* Addictions to “drown” the problem

I am sure the list could go on. Feeling bad about yourself and not tackling the problem because it is just too huge is not going to help. Be aware that most people are not naturally organized or born organizers.

It is even more important to get organized when you are not a natural organizer. Where to start? Help is at hand.

Claire McFee is the author of a book called “Organize Your Life” and the co-creator of “Organize Your Life” e-organizers. She has created over 300 lists to help you get organised. Yes, you can print them out, tick things off with a real pen and put them into folders!

Her motto is: “The weakest pen is better than the strongest memory”. She has made a very generous offer to our readers and listeners. Check it out here – www.stretchyourmindandbody.com/blog/oyl

Marketing Lessons from a Dentist

By Connie On November 14th, 2009 in Mind & Body Connection /

Loading ... Loading ...

I have been driving past the practice of a particular dentist for over two years now. He works from a single storey house with a large front yard which is located on a main road near a set of traffic lights. Everybody who stops at the red lights will notice his various marketing activities.

The first thing he did was to display a massive white plastic tooth – roots and all – on wheels outside his front fence. (Mind you it is chained to the fence!) I am sure I pass at least 6-10 dental practices on my way to work but could I tell you where the are? No! Do I know where the practice of Dr. Tooth is? You bet!

The next thing that happened was the appearance of a small billboard near the front fence. It stated in big bold red letters that this practice was open 7 days a week and that is was the ideal place for dental emergencies. This sign was up long enough for everybody to take note. For a while the sign disappeared and as it was close to Christmas, the dentist really got into the spirit of things – glittering tinsel would around the fence, flashing Santas on the roof, reindeers, fairy lights all over the place. Especially at night you couldn’t miss the place.

To get the new year started the right way, the next sign reminded potential customers that there was no need to lose valuable work time to get your teeth seen to, you could conveniently arrange your check ups on weekends. Part of the advertising arsenal is yet another billboard mounted on a trailer which lists all available services, the telephone number, web address and Fax number. On the other side it describes the new technology used at the practice, like digital x-rays and the like. This particular sign gets moved about a lot. It is white with blue writing – cool, clean and professional looking.

A couple of months ago (around September) the arrival of laser tooth whitening was announced on the billboard. Just letting everybody know that this service was now available. Over time more specific details were added – that it is really quick and only takes one hour of your time to have shiny pearly whites. A little stop sign and telephone number appeared. The price and the information that you will receive a massive discount getting your teeth whitened now was added last.

Last week an extra sign went up underneath the bill board. It is time to buy gift vouchers for your loved ones. Dentist gift voucher – who would have thought of that? Can you see how this ties in with the tooth whitening?

What can we learn from this dentist?
* Be visible, pick a clear, simple symbol, make it big – in this case the huge tooth – everybody will understand it and take note
* Make use of the passing traffic or trade, organise your material so the motorists or pedestrians can read it without too much effort.
* Use bold colours and large lettering. White background and simple primary colours work best.
* Put enough information to make it interesting but avoid overload.
* Put your information out in increments – get people curious.
* Change your signs often enough to keep people interested and make them take note.
* Keep the signs displayed long enough so the message has time to sink in.
* Have your signs or other advertising materials on wheels so it is easy to test different locations. You can see which one works best.
* Use the different times of year to tie in with your promotions, however far fetched it may seem to you. How about a plumbing gift voucher for mothers day? Or accounting gift vouchers near the end of the financial year?

What I would like you to take away from this article are some ideas. Remember to be successful people have to know that you are in business and what you offer. Don’t be afraid to be creative and don’t say “this wouldn’t work for me!” You won’t know till you try.

One time or another people will need your services. Who are they going to call? The business they remember. Make your business memorable and noticeable whichever way you can. People love to talk about unusual experiences they had in a particular coffee shop, restaurant or clothes shop.  Or at the dentist for that matter!

Little things count a lot, especially in a very impersonal world like ours.

Till next time,

Connie

Unleash Your Inner Genius – Create Wealth and Abundance

Charly and I talked to Iyabo Asani from www.coachiyabo.com

Iyabo has been practising law for over 20 year and ran her own busy law firm. Outwardly she was successful at every level but deep down she knew that there was something missing. She described it as having too much and yet not enough at the same time.

This finally got her searching for her own inner truth and happiness. With the help of a life coach she discovered her inner genius and was able to become true to her own heart.

 How to discover your own inner genius and create wealth and abundance?

  • Listen to the cry of your soul, stop hiding what you really want and need
  • Become true to your heart
  • Once you are true to your heart, others will either move out of your way or join you
  • Unleash your creativity in whichever way you can
  • Work on synergising and balancing your right and left brain, your chakra system and get connected with your higher self, spirituality or God

Money is the tangible result of your inner genius. Apart from the inner genius it is essential to take good care of yourself, look after yourself and love yourself. Loving yourself is not selfish, it is all about valueing yourself. By placing value on ourselves the money will flow towards us to add more value. We need to heal our relationship with money.

 Some more important points:

  • Reclaim your power over yourself – don’t let things or other people have power over you
  • Set appropriate boundaries
  • Reward yourself in little ways
  • Learn to say no
  • Get yourself a coach or mentor or enrol in a self development course to help you reach your goals faster

You like what Iyabo has to say? Listen to full interview here:

The Fearless Factor with Jacqueline Wales

By Connie On November 4th, 2009 in Mind & Body Connection /

Loading ... Loading ...

Today Charly and I talked to Jacqueline Wales from http://www.thefearlessfactor.com
Jacqueline has an amazing history and achieved many things in her life that she would have never dreamt of. She is an inspiration to listen to.

We started out by talking about her background and childhood which included a lot of exposure to violence and alcoholism, poverty followed by drug addiction and alcohol abuse. Out of all that, after a lot of commitment, hard work and struggle evolved a remarkable woman who is on a mission to achieve all of her dreams and share her knowledge and skills with others so they can achieve their goals against all odds.

The “Fearless Factor” is all about going beyond fear. Fear is based in our imagination (unless it is a real life threatening situation). Our imagination goes into overdrive and into a very negative mode. Our only reality is here and now (which is also one of the very basic yoga principles). We have no idea what will happen, we can’t possibly know. We can project into the future in a positive way by saying to ourselves something like: “If I have it my way, this will happen…”

We need to question all our beliefs once we are adults because all of us live with somebody else’s beliefs and fears in our minds.

Fear is like an abyss, we need to work out how to get to the other side and the only way is to jump – it is not as far as you think it is. Fear can also be defined as the “inability to trust”. This could be not trusting ourselves or others. On the other side of fear is love, especially loving yourself, and the firm belief that anything is possible.

Being fearless is not the absence of fear but the ability to get to the “other side”. How to overcome fear? Start acting “as if” or like some of my mentors have put it: “Fake it till you make it”.

Fear has 5 elements:
• Loss
• Abandonment
• Rejection
• Humiliation
• Failure or success

When we have fear one or many of the 5 elements above are activated. All these elements interrelate. To manage the fear of failure just redefine failure as something that “didn’t work”. You simply did not have enough information. Don’t dwell on it, just move on to the next thing.

One practical hint how to overcome your fears:
Carry palm cards and write down any negative thought or fear that comes to mind as soon as it does. Then turn the card around and write the opposite thought on the back.
This is a great tool as it graphically reminds you every time you have self sabotaging thoughts and you have an opportunity to turn them around.

Jacqueline left us with one parting thought: “Remember that fear is an option”.
