It is Chinese New Year again. The year of the Tiger has started. A couple of days ago I attended celebrations in Parramatta, a suburb of Sydney and saw some great fruit and vegetable carvings. Here are some of my photos for you to enjoy!
Australia has a “Red Centre”. The middle of our vast continent is a desert and the sand and the rocks (including the famous Ayers Rock) are red. I visited this area on two occasions and find it fascinating. It has a “spirit” and and energy of its own.
This morning when I got up the sky had the strangest colour I had ever seen. The light was eerie, spooky, I could not figure out what was going on. It was similar to what happens when severe bushfires are burning, but this was different. I got my camera and took a few shots around my backyard. Suddenly I realised that there was lots of red dust on my car.
My first thought was “chemicals, poisons, factory burning somewhere” – so I rushed back inside and turned the radio on. I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard that it was “only” dust. It was covering all of Sydney and gale force winds had brought it from the far west.
I had never seen anything like it and hope that it was a rare and unusual event. I thought I share a couple of my photos with you.
I want to share a story with you, a real life story that shows that anything is possible, if you put your mind to it. With this story I also want to encourage you to start writing. You may think that it is not interesting what you have to say. I am sure you know something that soemone else wants to know about or somebody else is interested in.
I met Richard today, a delightful volunteer in a thrift shop who had a stack of two different children’s book sitting on the counter in front of him. I found out that they were his books, he had written them just recently. When he approached a publisher with his first one he was told that it wouldn’t sell, that it was too Australian. He took it elsewhere and so far has sold 1500 copies!
BUT the most remarkable thing about the whole story is that Richard was illiterate for 63 years of his life. He went to the local college and started learning to read and write. Within 3 years he became an author.

We are pleased we were able to interview Lenore Miller once more -now you have chance to listen to her talk. Her energy, enthusiasm and passion are contagious!
Lenore talked about creating an outrageously healthy life for yourself – don’t put it off till you lose that weight or till you feel better – start today by looking at things you can be grateful for or happy about.
Everything starts with a decision first – decide to become healthy and then create a toolbox for yourself that will help you along the way. One of the items in your toolbox should be the ability to create positive questions. Instead of asking – “Why am I so fat?” ask yourself something like: “What is great about today?” This will change your focus.
To help you along Lenore has made an incredibly generous offer. The first 10 people to listen to the call will get a free consultation with Lenore! Just email Lenore at: lenore@outrageouslyhealthy.com and mention this show!
Today Charly and I interviewed Janet Beckers from Wonderful Web Women to discuss list building through Joint Ventures. For anyone starting out on the internet list building is crucial – “the money is in the list” – is a much used phrase in the internet marketing world. This is true, but many all too eager internet marketers view their list as some kind of ready teller, they don’t bother building a relationship, don’t treat their list with respect and wonder why people are not buying.
Janet refers to her list as her “community” and talked about community building. After a while the community takes on a life of its own. By doing live calls and creating events in which the community can participate creates a real “buzz” and the products created are amazing.
One of the problems new internet marketers often face is the fact that their JV partners don’t promote as they promised. It is important to realise that often it is simply the fact that they are too busy and they need gentle reminders.
You can pre-write emails and your JV partners links and banners to make their job as easy as possible. Always be clear in your mind that you are coming from a position of having something worthwile to offer to them. Always be grateful for the opportunity and the fact that they agreed to work with you. At the same time, don’t come from a position of inferiority or feeling that they are doing you a huge favour and that you have nothing to offer.
