Learning to Love What You Are Doing Is Healthy and Reduce Stress

By Stretch Your Mind and Body On June 27th, 2011 in Mind & Body Connection /
1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)
Loading ... Loading ...

A lot of people are feeling stress nowadays. But if you really think about it, there are actually things we can do to reduce the level of the stress that we are feeling. Stress can cause a lot of health problems if not managed properly. Therefore, it pays to learn how to reduce and manage your stress.

Of course, in this article, I am not going to give you a lecture on the 156 way to reduce stress or whatever number of ways you can think of. Anyway, I don’t think I know a total of 156 ways to reduce stress. But I do know quite a number of ways that can be quite effective and I will try to share a few of them with you in this article.

Well, this is probably going to be a surprise, at least for some of you. The very first way to relieve stress or to reduce your stress level is to learn to love what you are doing. Now, I am starting to hear some of you saying, ‘Hey, how can that be possible? I hate my job! I hate my boss!’ blah blah blah blah……..

Yes. I heard that all. I hear my friends complaining all the time on how they hate their boss and they hate their job. Alright, I am going to admit that I do complain from time to time too. But the fact is, whether you love or hate your job or boss, it is more of an attitude than anything else. If you change your attitude to a more positive one, maybe you will no longer hate your job or your boss.

Of course, I am not telling you to make a complete change, from hating to loving your boss or job overnight. Just try to work on it. The fact is, if you love what you are doing, your stress level will not be so high.

Of course, initially, you are going to face some kind of resistance from yourself. You just find that you cannot change your attitude. Well, don’t worry too much. Just take it one step at a time and see if the situation improves.

It is no secret that going to a spa can make you look and feel beautiful, but did you know that many spa in costa rica can have a beneficial effect on many aspects of your daily life?  The relaxing effects of the spa atmosphere and having a costa rica spa treatment allow your overworked body to relax, and give your mind the chance to release worries creating an overall sense of calm.  While enjoying a full day at the costa rica spas can be a wonderful experience, you can receive the benefits of spa therapy with even a single, shorter costa rica spa treatment.  The following are some of the benefits of receiving a spa treatment for your mind and body:
1. Increased energy flow.  Your body is a little like a battery, and it can become worn out by the stresses of daily life.  Spa therapy is designed to increase the flow of energy throughout your body, and help you feel more energetic.
2. Improved flexibility.  As muscles become tenser, your body becomes less flexible.  This can lead to increased chances of injury when exercising or even routine daily activities.  Receiving a costa rica health spas such as a massage or aroma therapy session can relax your body, making it more flexible.
3. Reduce high blood pressure.  If you suffer from high blood pressure, allowing your mind the opportunity to relax can help prevent hypertension.  When you go to the costa rica spa for a spa treatment, you will find that you are able to let go of worries and move to a more relaxed state.
4. Heal emotional disturbances.  The rejuvenating effect of a spa treatment can give you freedom from emotional distress for a period while you are at the spa and even after.
5. Slow the effects of aging.  Worries and concerns can etch lines on your face, but regular spa therapy can help you relax.  Having a costa rica massage such as a facial can be as effective as many cosmetic procedures for slowing the appearance of age.
6. Soothe sore muscles.  Athletes in particular can benefit from spa therapy, with treatments designed to soothe muscles that have become sore from working out.

7. Tone and nourish skin.  Your skin is your largest organ, and having a spa treatment that nourishes and replenishes the moisture in your skin can keep it younger and firmer.
8. Reduce insomnia and fatigue.  As your body grows more tired, you develop a so-called sleep debt.  Regular, deep sleep is the best way to prevent this, and a costa rica spa treatments can help you de-stress enough to fall asleep easily and sleep for longer periods.
The benefits of costa rica spa therapy for your mind and body are well known.  Feeling less stressed and taking better care of your body can help you create a happier, more balanced life.

The author is a health admirer and loves to share his ideas about health related issue. This time he is explaining the role of costa rica spa treatment in rejuvenation of body, mind and soul.

Great Tips On Developing Self Confidence And Eliminating Self Doubt

By Stretch Your Mind and Body On June 22nd, 2011 in Mind & Body Connection /
1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)
Loading ... Loading ...

Self confidence is a crucial aspect of one’s mental well being. It enables people to be self assured about their own abilities, and gives them a measure of self worth that is imperative for them to continue with their daily lives. People who suffer from low confidence tend to feel worthless, and do not look forward to living their lives to the fullest, and instead they drag their feet and try to get by each day, feeling terrible about themselves and the world around them. If you feel that you have low self confidence, then this article is just for you. This article will show you some great tips on developing a great sense of self confidence, and ways on how you can eliminate self doubt so you can stand on your own two feet and seize every opportunity for success and live your life the way it is meant to be lived.

Firstly we need to address self doubt. Self doubt is a prevalent problem in a lot of people these days, as they doubt their abilities to succeed or even to live their lives the way they should. It is the limiting belief that prevents you from realizing your goals. Once we know the factors that contribute to our self doubt, only then can we build and develop our self confidence. Remove self doubt, and your self confidence will grow.

How do you remove your self doubt? You need to understand that self doubt is bred by repetitive negative thoughts, and so in order to eliminate self doubt you need to replace the negative thoughts with that of positive ones. While it may not be possible for you to do this overnight, you can however do it over time.

For example, if you have always thought that you want to start your very own home business but you have been unable to because you simply do not have the time because of your busy schedule, then you need to change your train of thought by repeatedly convincing yourself that there are others out there, thousands in fact, who have been successful in starting their own home business and are raking in thousands of dollars in extra income every month while still working their day jobs. This emphasis on how others have succeeded in what you seek to achieve will serve as an impetus for you to get motivated in achieving what you desire and stop you from dallying any further.

Fill your mind with positive thoughts and only good can come out of it.

Use positive affirmations to stay positive. It’s a great technique to reprogram your subconscious mind into a more positive state. The concept of positive affirmations is based on the repetitive drilling of positivity so that you can replace any negative limiting beliefs from your mind.

Another useful method you can employ is to surround yourself with positive people. Allow them to provide positive criticism and encouragement in your journey toward success, and you will find yourself blossoming into a more confident person.

Let’s start with

what we do before our penis comes in. First, you must learn to calm and reduce anxiety levels of performance.

Because premature ejaculation is rarely associated with sex, men of low frequency of sexual activity are often very excited and full of energy, which may manifest as relations of performance anxiety when sex is introduced. Even men can have sex frequently extra excited.

The reduction of anxiety is different for each person. meditation, hypnosis exercises, or images may be useful for some. As an athlete working with a sports psychologist to predict performance, you can do the same sexual imagery for the bedroom. How many of you imagine sex positive scenarios in terms of their behaviors and interactions that take place in? Images can be positive and mentally, something you can use that can help you manage your anticipatory anxiety -. and when Communicate anxiety is also useful. We have heard the phrase, “a relief to get it off my chest,” however, is rarely used for premature ejaculation. Talk with a colleague, friend or therapist opens the door for the relief of anxiety and can help resolve and alleviate some of our fears. Men in general, keep things inside and even for such a sensitive issue. Things like penis size, body image, relationship difficulties, and stressors in life (work, financial, family, health) can add to our level of anxiety in the room. Finally, take some books on sex education / DVD in the art of sex and sexual expression. There are thousands out there and have sex education, more competent, confident and feel less anxious Premature ejaculation:. Muscles Have you noticed the tension in your body feels men are less likely to find a way to release tension in the pelvis often?. The men engage in actions and behaviors throughout life and during sexual intercourse that increase muscle tension.

During sex, if you keep breathing, flexing their muscles and abdominal muscles, or rest your weight in certain sexual positions (missionary), which creates muscle tension that increases the potential for premature ejaculation. The classic example is the activities of men waving their muscles as they grow to feel his erection look bigger and your partner. Since orgasm is muscle contractions that release muscle tension, it would be prudent for us to work on our levels of muscular tension. such as yoga, stretching techniques to reduce anxiety and develop ways to reduce tension in the pelvis and abdomen outside the courtroom.

Useful Resource: Premature Ejaculation Exercises

It is also recommended to let your partner (or massage) to give a full body massage. Note to experience performance anxiety and release tension you feel when you touch the belly, thighs, buttocks and other areas of your body to do. genital stimulation is not, is to control the discomfort you may feel with your body, touch, feel exposed. Men who are comfortable with their body image are affected often have a lower rating of sexual anxiety. Another important technique that requires more time to do Kegel exercises. If you have not tried, what are you waiting for? There is no better way to strengthen the pelvic region and the development of strong pubococcygeus muscle. One reason for Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, as they spend many hours watching the movie game for the preparation for the match. What are you doing to prepare for sex? You can not expect greatness does not put in time.

The Relations between Mind and Body- Disconnected?

By Stretch Your Mind and Body On June 17th, 2011 in Mind & Body Connection /
1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)
Loading ... Loading ...

The mind and the body, French philosopher Rene Descartes once said, are two fundamentally separate concepts.  Descartes believed that the mind and the body were separate from one another, with no correlation or connection between the two.  For many centuries, people accepted the theory that a person’s state of mind is distinct and separate from the condition of the body.

The above idea has become one of the core doctrines of Western medical science, prompting doctors to focus more on physical symptoms and refer patients to separate experts for psychological issues. This stands in contrast with other medical systems, which put as much focus on a patient’s feelings and state of mind as they do on physical signs and symptoms. However, recent studies have shown that there may be more of a connection between physical and mental health than initially thought. A person’s mental health does have an impact on their physical well-being, contrary to what Descartes believed.

The main proof of the connection between mental health and physical factors comes in the form of psychopharmacology. Since the brain functions through the use of neural receptors and biochemical signals, anything that affects the regular influx of that “mix” can have an effect on a person’s mental health. The obvious example of this would be endorphins, which the body generates in large amounts during exercise and have the effect of “lifting” the mood. There are other chemicals that play a role in the delicate balance of the mind, such as serotonin and dopamine. Altered levels of these can have a variety of effects, including anxiety disorders, depression, and in some cases, insomnia. However, these are not the only factors that indicate a closer connection between mental health and physical health, albeit these are the most prominent.

The performance of athletes in a variety of sports are also taken as a sign that the mind and body are more connected than initially believed. This is exemplified by how much mental discipline is needed to keep the body at peak performance, particularly in the middle of a tight game. The existence of performance anxiety, which can effectively cripple an athlete psychologically at inopportune times, has also been taken as evidence of the connection between mental health and physical well-being. It is often noted that a person’s state of mind can have an effect on how effectively they perform physical activities, with an athlete’s perception of his own abilities often imposing limits on ability that aren’t physically present. In correlation with this, there are also studies being conducted that show how a positive physical self-image helps promote a better state of mental health.

How physical performance aids in promoting mental health, however, is not clear.  While a positive outlook and the absence of problems such as performance anxiety and depression play an important role in achieving peak athletic performance, the opposite has not necessarily been observed. Most experts believe there are too many variables and factors to be considered, such as the social prestige of athletic achievement. However, chemical changes occurring in the body, particularly the central nervous system, during exercise have been observed and verified by studies.

For the time being, most experts of both physical and mental health believe that there is still a need to conduct more in-depth studies before a definitive picture of the connections between the body and mind can be drawn. The effects of chemicals on the brain, whether occurring naturally or introduced through psychoactive drugs, have been documented, but there is more room for study. For example, there is a general lack of knowledge on how psychoactive chemicals have an effect on psychology, as well as whether or not synthetic variations of chemicals in the body have the same effects as the naturally-produced ones.

Self Help Treatment For Anxiety Attacks

By Stretch Your Mind and Body On June 15th, 2011 in Mind & Body Connection /
1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)
Loading ... Loading ...

In considering self help treatment for anxiety attacks, the first thing you need to do is get a proper diagnosis from a healthcare professional. Once diagnosed, you can then decide on your treatment. And more and more people are turning to self help treatment for anxiety attacks, rather than using mind-numbing drugs. Here are 5 things to help you treat your condition without drugs.

1 – Understand What Causes Anxiety Attacks

Anxiety attacks are triggered when someone with already higher-than-normal levels of anxiety suffers a peak of additional stress. This can be something as simple as driving in heavy traffic, shopping in a crowded environment, being in a crowded lift, preparing for an exam, etc. What happens is that this additional ‘spike’ of stress adds to your overall anxiety levels and pushes you ‘over the top’.

Your unconscious mind wrongly perceives this as a life threatening situation and, as it is primed to do, sets in motion a serious of chemical and other physical changes to your mind and body to help you either fight the ‘danger’ or run away to safety. This is called your body’s ‘fight or flight’ response and has been with us since primeval times.

But of course there is no external threat, all you’ve had is a rise in anxiety. But your unconscious mind doesn’t have time to check out the reality, it just assumes the worse case scenario (which it’s programmed to do) and triggers it’s fight or flight response. The chemical and physical changes result in the symptoms you experience during an anxiety (panic) attack.

2 – Get To Know the Symptoms Of An Anxiety Attack

The following are typical symptoms to be aware of:- tight chest / throat, dizziness, nausea, hyperventilation, rapid heart beat, difficulty breathing, tingling fingers, sweating, trembling, feeling of being detached from surroundings, feeling of impending doom.

It is important to remember that these are just the symptoms associated with your body’s flight or fight response to a ‘percieved’ dangerous situation that doesn’t in fact exist. So you aren’t having a heart attack or about to die. Try to remember this if you begin to feel the onset of symptoms. Even repeat it to yourself. It will help to reduce the intensity and length of the symptoms.

3 – Always Avoid Stress Where Possible

There are certain things in life which you can’t avoid, but you must avoid unnecessary stress. Stress occurs through people, relationships, situations, etc. There are some you can’t control, so don’t try. But there others you can control and so you need to get rid of these stressful situations.

For example, if certain people not important to you are stressing you out, stay right away from them. If there is a relationship that causes you anxiety and stress almost daily then you need to seriously consider if it’s worth continuing. If there are situations like driving to work that constantly stress you out, can you use public transport? can someone drive you? etc.

The workplace is a great source of stress. Are you working hard rather than working smart? Do you continually take on more than you can reasonably handle? Do you work voluntary overtime in order to pay for things that really aren’t that important in the scheme of things? Try to reduce you hours and don’t take on more work than you can handle.

4 – Be Positive During An Anxiety Attack

A positive attitude is just so important when you have anxiety and suffer anxiety attacks. Especially during an attack, a positive reaction to the onset of an attack can seriously limit its length and intensity. Anybody who has suffered an attack knows that it isn’t easy to do this, but those that have managed know that it is true.

You now know that an anxiety attack cannot harm you. You now know what the symptoms are and what causes them. In other words you have all the information you need to meet your next attack head-on with a positive attitude.

5 – Eliminate Your Fear Of Another Anxiety Attack

This is the most important thing you’ll learn in coping with anxiety attacks. Remember above you learned how a rise in stress on top of your already high anxiety can trigger a ‘fight or flight’ response which causes you to experience the symptoms as an anxiety attack? Well your ‘fear’ of having another attack acts in the same way…

Everyone who has suffered an anxiety attack has a conscious or subconscious fear of another. And no wonder the symptoms are terrifying! But this fear builds on your already higher-than-normal anxiety levels, so raising your overall anxiety even higher. By itself, or in conjunction with an everyday stressful event, this fear can trigger your body’s fight or flight response, so producing an anxiety attack.

This vicious cycle of; anxiety > anxiety attack > fear > more anxiety > anxiety attack > more fear > even more anxiety > anxiety attack > and so on, must be broken to prevent further anxiety attacks and cure your general anxiety.

To discover the simple ‘ONE MOVE’ technique that will eliminate your fear factor and so break your vicious cycle of anxiety, go here now http://eliminatepanicattacks.blogspot.com and prepare to get your old self back again.

The author constantly researches health issues then writes reports on his findings so that you are perhaps more aware of the facts, and then, better able to make an informed decision on your choice of treatment and cure. Remember to always consult your doctor first. Please go here now http://eliminatepanicattacks.blogspot.com and prepare to get your old self back again.

Anxiety Self Help

By Stretch Your Mind and Body On June 13th, 2011 in Mind & Body Connection /

Anxiety is a feeling of apprehension, fear and nervousness that is felt in response to an anticipated event that will come. While anxiety can be normal at times, this can also affect an individual’s well-being, especially when it begins to affect his physical and mental state. Usually, anxiety is accompanied by physical symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, headaches and heart palpitations. To address anxiety problems, you may want to consider natural anxiety self help remedies.

Anxiety self help remedies include physical therapy, vitamin intake and use of other herbal and natural products.

Physical Therapies

Aromatherapy
This type of physical therapy uses essential oils that help relieve stress and allow the person to relax. These essential oils are made with natural herbal ingredients that have pleasant fragrances known to calm down the mind, body and spirit. Bergamot, Cedarwood, Cypress, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Melissa, Neroli, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood, Sweet Marjoram and Ylang-ylang are popular essential oils that can be used as massage oils, infusers or mix in bath soaps or water.

Exercise and Psychotherapy
Physical exercises – high or low-intensity, are one of the best remedies for anxiety, especially for women. However, it is said that these are more effective for mild anxieties only. For severe attacks, psychotherapy is proven effective.

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy includes Shiatsu, Swedish and Thai massage that help manage anxiety symptoms by reducing stress, relieving muscle tensions and promoting good sleep.

Mind/Body and Relaxation Techniques
Breathing exercises are a good way to relax the mind and enhance concentration that is needed in meditative exercises like Yoga and Tai. These two are effective stress relievers. In the same way, self-hypnosis and biofeedback also help reduces anxiety attack. When the mind and body are relaxed, the sleeping problem caused by anxiety lessens.

Vitamin Intakes

Magnesium
Some research studies say that magnesium supplements have a calming effect that may help a person suffering from stress and depression to cool down. Sever anxiety symptoms that manifest by means of nervousness and insomnia may be relieved by taking 400 mg. of calcium and 200 mg. of magnesium all together.

Vitamin B
Vitamin B combats stress, which is the major cause of anxiety. This vitamin can be naturally consumed by eating green leafy vegetables. However, taking vitamin B supplements that can be bought from pharmacies may sometimes be easier, especially for non-vegetarian individuals. Vitamin B deficiency can also lead to anxiety problems.
Natural and Herbal Products

Fish Oil
The fatty acid known as omega 3 is known to be essential in reducing anxiety problems and in stabilizing moods.

Kava
Kava is an herb used to treat anxiety problems. It has already treated a number of patients; however, before taking Kava, a doctor’s consent is needed.

Motherwort
Another herbaceous perennial plant is Motherwort that can also give a calming effect to the person suffering from anxiety problems. This is especially known to help women who are going through the menopausal stage.

Passionflower
Passionflower is also a known herbal plant that helps lessen the occurrence of anxiety attack. Like most herbal plants, this also facilitates sound sleep and deal with insomnia problems. Like Kava, Passionflower should only be taken with a doctor’s advice.

There are many more herbal medicinal plants and other commercial medicines that can treat anxiety. However, while commercial medicines are available for people with severe anxiety problems, managing its cause and symptoms naturally, can still be the best approach to anxiety self help.

Anxiety self help is possible and effective. Kriz Cruzado shows you how.

Public Speaking: Practical Tips to Get Started and Develop Self Confidence

By Stretch Your Mind and Body On June 8th, 2011 in Mind & Body Connection /
1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)
Loading ... Loading ...

The rewards of being a confident speaker are great. You will be recognised as being of leader material. You can achieve more through 5 minutes of effective speaking than 5 years of grind. A few well chosen words on the subject under discussion will receive favourable attention and command respect.

Getting started in any field of endeavour is often the most difficult part. The tips given here outline an approach to getting started in public speaking that have proved successful in developing self confidence in speaking either in public or in conversation.

Your First Appearance

Your first appearance in public need only brief. No more than a few words is all that is required, e.g. stating your name and occupation. If you are tempted to fidget or wring your hands, clasp your hands behind your back.

You can still be a hit with your audience by acknowledging the fact that you are new to public speaking. Just avoid using the clichéd “unaccustomed as I am to public speaking.” Instead say something like “This is my first appearance before an audience and I am very nervous. My name is …… and my business is ………, and some day I hope to tell you more. Then sit down.

Practice Fields

To find somewhere to practice will require a little initiative. When practicing swimming you will need to find a swimming pool and when practicing public speaking you need to find a meeting. Fortunately there are thousands of meetings held every day that will give an ambitious speaker ample opportunity to be heard. Also there are two organisations that are great places to help you to become more confident speaker. They are Toastmasters International and the Dale Carnegie Institute.

Persistence

A little and often is the key to building confidence and improving your performance. A brief speech delivered often is more effective than a longer speech given infrequently. More than any other human activity confident speaking is learned by doing and improved by practice.

Preparation

Thorough preparation is of key importance. Self confidence will develop as a result of full preparation for your speech. With a full understanding of your topic you will radiate confidence.
