Marketing And The Chakras
A few months ago, I was listening to Janet Beckers from Wonderful Web Women interview Lorrie Morgan Ferrero about identifying your target market. The information was fascinating and it really resonated with me and I use her approach a lot when coaching clients developing their marketing plan.
Part of Lorrie’s advice was to really identify who you are speaking to with your marketing. Don’t target ‘everyone’, target the small percentage of your market that are ready to buy from you then and there.
Now that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be raising your profile to your target audience, however, you should be spending the bulk of your marketing dollars on speaking to your specific target market. You need to get to know your target market really well. It helps if you are or were (in the past) part of that target market, because you have “walked in their shoes” and know their fears, problems, wants and frustrations. It will be easy for you to talk to your market in their language. If you have never been part of the group you are marketing to you need to spend time to get to know them – it really makes a big difference.
One thing that also can help you is understanding the ancient chakra system. We all go through different stages and cycles in our lives. The chakra system adds another layer of understanding. There are 7 main chakras (energy centres) in our bodies and they govern everything from the functioning of our glands and organs to our emotions and the way we relate to the world around us.
We are born with one or two more dominant chakras. On top of that, at different stages in our lives (roughly 7 year cycles) one of the chakras predominates – this will colour very much what we are interested in, the emotions we are experiencing, what language we respond to best and a myriad of other things. So it is very helpful to know which stage of life (i.e. what age) your target client is at, so you can craft your sales message in an even more specific way.
